What is Herramientapp: free online tools for your everyday

Herramientapp is a collection of online tools designed so anyone can solve small everyday tasks involving files, images or text without having to install software, create accounts or pay subscriptions. Everything we do follows three simple rules:

• Always free. No daily limits, no watermarks, no "premium" tiers that hold you back.
• No sign-up. We don't ask for your email, we don't create accounts, we don't store anything.
• Private by design. Whenever it's technically possible, the processing happens entirely in your own browser — your files never travel to any server.

What is Herramientapp for?

We've all been there: you need to convert a file, compress an image, turn a PDF into Word, or generate a QR code. Usually you end up on a page full of ads, that forces you to register, or limits you to three conversions a day.

Herramientapp was born to be the first tab you open whenever you need any of those things: fast, clean, no surprises, asking for nothing in return.

Tools available now

Right now we have one fully working tool:

• PDF to Word — Convert a PDF into an editable .docx document. It detects bold, italic, headings, lists, simple tables and embedded images. The conversion runs entirely in your browser.

We have a clear roadmap with the tools we'll be adding in the coming months, prioritising the most requested ones:

• Word to PDF — The reverse process: convert your .docx to PDF keeping the formatting.
• Compress PDF — Shrink the size of a PDF without losing readability, ideal for emailing.
• Merge PDFs — Combine several PDFs into one, drag-and-drop ordering.
• Compress image — Optimize the size of your JPG, PNG or WebP photos with quality control.
• Convert image — Switch between JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF without losing quality.
• Word counter — Count words, characters, paragraphs and reading time instantly.
• QR generator — Create custom QR codes for links, WiFi, vCards or text.

Why use Herramientapp instead of the alternatives?

Most similar sites have been around for years and are perfectly functional, but they tend to share some uncomfortable points: they limit you in the free tier, ask for your email, add watermarks, or upload your files to their servers. We're not saying that's wrong — it's their business model. But we've chosen a different one.

At Herramientapp:

• There's no "free plan" or "pro plan". The full version is the only one, and it's free.
• There are no server-imposed size limits, because we don't use a server to process your file.
• There are no watermarks on the files we generate.
• We don't insert intrusive ads. Just a small analytics to count visits and know which tools to build next.

How do we keep it running if it's free?

Fair question. For now, Herramientapp runs on very little: Vercel hosting has a generous free plan, and the domain costs about a coffee a month. In the future, if the project grows, we may consider optional premium features (e.g. batch conversion or cloud storage) — but the basic tools we offer today will stay free forever.

We don't sell data. We can't sell data, because we don't have any.

What technology do we use?

Herramientapp is built with modern technologies designed for speed:

• Astro for the static site (every page loads in milliseconds).
• Plain JavaScript for the tools, which runs in your browser.
• Vercel as hosting, with a global CDN.
• No tracking cookies or ad tracking, just an anonymous visit counter.
